Lubricants

Acrawax® and Glycolube® function in two ways depending upon the polymer system. As internal lubricants for extrusion applications, they reduce melt viscosity which promotes flow and lowers the processing energy requirements. In addition for injection molding applications they also have the potential to reduce cycle times. They have no adverse affects on the optical properties or the printabilityof the finished product.

When these products are used as external lubricants for either extrusion or injection molding applications, they promote the release of polymers where they interface with metallic surfaces. They also reduce shear heat and improve thermal stability. In either application, these mold-release additives aid in reducing cycle time.
